- Open text field 1: This tea made from non-fermented leaves contains almost all the active ingredients of the fresh olive leaf. Drunk neat, the health-promoting ingredients give it a slightly bitter, unmistakable taste.
The tree and its products have played an important role in many cultures for centuries. His best-known product is the olive oil, which was and is used both for nutrition and for beauty care.
Olive trees (Olea europaea) have been around for 4000 years BC. Used as a useful plant. The evergreen, slowly growing plant can grow up to 20 meters high and several hundred years old, depending on the species. The tree can withstand great heat, is frugal, but sensitive to cold. The olive tree usually only produces its first yield after seven years.
The entire plant (roots, bark, fruits and leaves) contains various active ingredients with which it protects itself against insects and germs and is very resistant, which is also reflected in its old age. An important ingredient is oleuropein.
Oleuropein is one of the phytamines, which are plant substances that are just as important for our health as vitamins.
The bitter substance, which is mainly found in the leaves of the olive, but also in other parts of the plant, is said to have a number of health-promoting properties. Oleuropein is found in the leaves in 3000 times higher concentration than in the olive oil. One reason for this is that the essentially important leaves stay on the branches for about five years, which is why the tree has to protect them particularly well against pests and fungi all the time.
This active ingredient has a strong antioxidant effect and can therefore make an excellent contribution to protecting the human organism from the harmful effects of free radicals. Oleuropein is not only a good cell protection, it also has antipruritic and anti-inflammatory properties and can successfully fight viruses, fungi and bacteria. The many advantages of oleuropein include antibacterial and antiviral effects, including against herpes and flu viruses and against Candida albicans.
There are other interesting substances in the olive leaves. They include oleoside, olevanol, oleosterol and glycosides. Most of these potent olive tree ingredients are so-called secondary plant substances. They serve plants mainly as defense and coloring agents as well as growth regulators. Secondary plant substances have an antioxidant and antimicrobial effect, regulate blood lipid and blood sugar levels, promote digestion and strengthen the immune system - to name just a few advantages. The secret of the olive tree lies in the synergy of its ingredients. Their interplay results in the comprehensive effectiveness of this plant - they would not be nearly as effective on their own.
