Ticks may transmit Lyme disease. If the tick, however, is correctly removed within 24 hours, then the risk of transmission is neglectably small.
HOW IS THE TICK TWEEZERS WORKING?
The Tick Tweezers have a 2-in-1 function. Both small as well as larger (engorged) ticks are removed painlessly, simply and safely.
For small ticks:
- Place your thumb and your index finger on the white buttons on either side of the tweezers and then press these buttons simultaneously. The tweezers will open.
- Place the open tweezers over the tick's head and close the tweezers directly above the skin by releasing both buttons.
- Now you have a good hold onto the tick. Turn the tick tweezers two or three times to the left (see the arrow on the tweezers) and then carefully pull out the tick.
- Disinfect the wound with an alcohol wipe.
- Rinse the tweezers with warm water! (do not boil)
For large (engorged) ticks:
- Push the other side of the tweezers (the chamber) sideways over the entire tick, so that the tick slides into the V recess.
- Then turn the tweezers two or three times to the left and finally pull out the tick carefully!
- Disinfect the wound with an alcohol wipe.
- Rinse the tweezers with warm water! (do not boil).
Please note: don't irritate ticks by using alcohol, smoke or burning cigaretts!
