THE GREEN - LIPPED MUSSEL
The green-lipped mussel has been cultured for over 30 years in the ecologically intact and clean water of New Zealand. The green-lipped mussel that is cultivated in New Zealand (the Latin term is „Perna Canaliculus“) belongs to the family of the blue mussels.
The Maoris, the indigenous population of New Zealand like to eat these mussels. The Maoris of the past hardly ever had problems with their joints.
The meat of these green lipped mussels contains a high percentage of glucosaminoglykane. This provides the nutrients necessary for healthy joints by nourishing the cartilage, synovial fluid and other connective tissues.
As a person ages, his body becomes less able to produce the GAGs which he needs for his joints to function optimally. Eating food or food supplements that contain glucosamine, such as this green-lipped mussel concentrate is therefore an excellent method of keeping joints functioning optimally.
